We’ve been having editors upload The Hayley Project episode rough cuts to Google Video and mark the videos as private. The problem is the quality level is quite poor (talking about the video encoding quality, not the content 😉 )

One of our editors suggested using Vimeo for uploading and watching rough cuts of The Hayley Project. He was right on.

Vimeo is fantastic. The quality is so much better than YouTube, and you can password protect your videos so only those invovled in a project can watch it. Uploading was simple, and you’re given 500MBs per week to upload footage.  You can even go full screen, and maintain pretty good quality (unlike YouTube).

Vimeo positions itself as follows:

“Use Vimeo to exchange videos with only the people you want to. We have a bunch of different privacy options so you can choose exactly who can see your videos, and others can do the same.”

It’s perfect for our purposes. I highly recommend it.
