P&G brings Crescent Heights to web

So it looks like P&G is joining in on web entertainment. Read about it here.

Product placement? 3-minute webisodes that are effectively advertisements? I can’t imagine webisodes that have to message on brand or products will be terribly successful. I suppose it depends on the mix of “advertising” versus “pure entertainment”. The best product placements I’ve seen on TV or in films is when it’s so subtle that you barely notice it. My guess is marketers are initially going to be a little more obvious about it to start, which of course, would lead to a poor experience for the viewer. Then again, I’ll give them points for trying.
