The Hayley Project: Day 5

June 24, 2007

Day 5 – Thursday. Today, we shot from 11 AM to 7 PM. A total of 8 hours, which is a much more manageable schedule. The flip side is that the industry standard for shooting is 12 hours. But coming off an intense previous day, I appreciated the 8 hour work day. I think Jato felt that we didn’t push ourselves as much as we could have. He has a point, given that there are a lot of coordination costs whenever we want to shoot anything, so it makes sense to make the most in any day.

Another one of our supporting actors came in today, and brought a burst of energy with him. It was refreshing because he’s a very comedic actor and he brings a lot of laughs to the set. Fresh blood is always good, because a new actor will usually come in excited and lift everybody else’s spirits.

Anyway, we finished the day after 8 hours, and I felt a little less beat up than the day before. One more day in my apartment and then off to other scenes…
