My quick impression is Sofia’s Diary falls into teen drama, similar to the way “My So Called Life” did back in the day. Unlike Lonelygirl15 and Redearth88, the filmmakers mix third-person narrative filmmaking with first camera video blogging, similar to the way we do in The Hayley Project. While it’s obvious that the “cute girl video blogging” style is bordering on cliche now, I think The Hayley Project is still in a different genre than the other titles. Guess we need to get a move on before a hundred more of these hit the net.
